- The principles used are as stated in Regulation 44 (1) and 44 (2) (a), (b) and (c) – Public Officers (Appointment, Promotion and Termination of Service) Regulations 2012 [P.U. (A) 1/2012]
- The salary received by a public officer who is promoted shall be higher than the last drawn salary in the previous grade and the difference is not less than one (1) normal salary movement in the previous grade
